The Islander and The Beach |
Its sunset.......its tropical........the view is awesome......you are greeted by the sound of waves breaking.....garlands and cocktails in pineapples are handed to the guests as they enter the Islander.......its beach party time!![]() If this is what you desire in Gauteng, then this is the place to be. Alternatively, just book this as your dinner venue. A scrumptious beach braai / spit braai is definitely recommended in this idyllic setting. |
Or just book that "Round the World trip" you have been looking forward for:You supply us with passport photo's of all the delegates and we have little passports made for each person with immigration stamps etc. We would convert the conference centre into an 'airport' and this is where we will hand out the passports and duty free bags etc. We would then do chairs in the form of a mock aeroplane and have a trolley with tuck biscuits etc on the plane. |
| We 'take off' to each country and in the background we will have a DJ doing airport sounds while in the airport and then when on the plane, doing the aeroplane sounds. Nick will be the pilot and will be dressed up as 'Jacque', the fighter pilot ('fitter pilo') with a World War 2 type outfit. He will do all the actions etc and will be continuously be sipping from his hip flask! We can do any country (the countries would be set on the beach, with Africa being the final country in the barn or Mauritius being the final country on the beach, but to give you an idea, this is what we usually do: AMERICA - We do mini hamburgers and drinks are 'Suitcases' (Jack Daniels and Passion fruit), the gifts are cowboy hat. SWITZERLAND - We do Emmentaler cheese and biscuits, Schnapps and the gifts are crystals. ISRAEL - We do humus and melba toast with kosher wine and the gifts are worry beads. AUSTRALIA - We do Fosters larger/Hardys cabernet and delicious lamb with mint sauce, the gifts are mini cricket bats. HONK KONG - We do chinese chicken with a sweet and sour sauce and rice wine/tsing tsao to drink, gifts are fans. UK - We make newspaper cones and fill them with hake nuggets deep fried and chips, served with Boddingtons/Guiness, gifts and soccer balls. We end up in AFRICA in the barn or we can end on the beach with a beach party in Mauritius complete with garlands and Tequila sunrises. A bush/beach braai for all to enjoy is followed by dessert. The DJ plays music as we reach each country and when we arrive in Africa, another system is set up and so the party just carries on! Drinks in each country are added to the main bar |

Great for lunches or dinners, this is another wonderful venue at Nutbush Boma Lodge. There are two pools at the lodge for those very hot summer days and for that beach party! |
The Barn |
The barn is a very unique venue. It has a large fireplace in the centre of the room and the tables are set out in a U shape to accommodate groups around the fire. It has hay on the floor to create a fabulous barn atmosphere. This is a very festive venue and a great party is had by all. We usually serve our famous bush braai dinners in the barn, with plated starters, and the main course as follows: On the braai - fillet, boerewors and chicken kebabs ; in the pots around the fire - mieliepap, spicy tomato and onion gravy, home made pepper sauce (great with the fillet); and creamy, cheesy baked potatoes. At the buffet - homemade cheesebread and fresh salads, dessert is plated. We have our own sound system on site, however we can also arrange DJ's and other entertainment like line dancing, or we can do a theme evening of your choice in this superb venue. |
